My father-in-law is in town and we’ve been touring him around Perth. Last weekend, we visited the Wheel of Perth.

The Bush Court at Murdoch University. It’s a place where students converge to bask in the sun, hold a meeting, meet friends and just about anything that you can think you can do under the sun.

On a technical note, this is my first serious try on high dynamic range photography. Obviously, my effort still needs a lot of improvement. I’m still at the birth pain stages, I suppose. Digital Camera Magazine describes HDR as ‘tone mapped’ photograph that captures the real image as seen by the naked eye. Here’s a real sample of a photograph that was HDR processed by my photographer friend, Dan Cercado.

Now, that’s how you process an HDR photo!

This is my official entry to the Stamp Out Stress Photography contest at the Uni. The title is derived from the technique I used in this photo–bokeh–Japanese word for blurred. I’ve posted a similar technique last time.

I’ve been meaning to submit an assignment for the Digital Photography School online. It’s a nice community for professional and budding photographers where they are given assignments to hone up technical skills and further their knowledge on photography. Finally, I was able to submit an entry for this week. The week’s theme is bokeh the Japanese term for blurred. The aim of the assignment is to familiarise the photographers on the power of aperture and beauty of blurred photography. This is not the one the I submitted but I equally love this that I’m posting it here.

Masaya rin ako at naisali ko rin ang entry na ito para sa Litratong Pinoy. Naalis na ako sa listahan dahil na rin sa kapabayaan ko pero dahil na rin sa pagnanais ko na mabuhay ang blog na ito ay pinapasigla ko ang pagsali sa mga ‘contest’ na ito para lang matulak ang aking pagpupursigi na gumawa ng blog entry. Ang tema ngayong linggo sa LP ay maagap. Tingin ko ay bagay din ang litratong ito sa tema ng LP dahil, ang maagap na estudyante, libro ang laging hawak!

Last week my family went to the Royal Perth Show. This is the second time we went to the annual event. This is the first time that I’ve seen bike stunts. They were really good. My girls and I enjoyed the show as the riders ‘flew’ from one platform to another leaping more than 30 feet off the ground.

Spring is definitely here as the weather warms up and the flowers bloom. This was taken at Araluen Botanical Gardens, tulips compose majority of the flowers planted there. It’s a nice place to visit, very family friendly.

There are lots of nice places to go to here in Perth and I love that it satisfies most photographer’s thirst–an endless number of subjects to shoot.
